MUSIC AT GOOD SHEPHERD

The Music Mission is a ministry with deep roots in the celebration of God's gifts of community well-being.  It is an effort to bring strangers together in healthy ways to remember the gifts of music in bringing people together to learn, grow mature and revive God's presence in their lives. The Good Shepherd Hymn Ensemble is living with the vision of reviving the tradition congregational hymn singing. Cantor Eleanor Taylor is the leader of this Ensemble. She will join our voices in singing the great hymns of the church. The Ensemble sings every Sunday. If you want to participate please you are welcome Sunday morning at 9:15 as we prepare for the Hymn of the Day.

Each Sunday Eleanor also offers the congregation a brief history of the Hymn of the Day. She places it in context and offers a spirit of enthusiasm in singing the hymn in connection with history and a contemporary expression of the church's voice.

The Men's Ensemble is led by Nathaniel Wilson. The men sing when they are called to sing for special occasions. They use their voices to give thanks. They also practice the deep harmony of the spiritual tradition.
